Adelaide, South Australia’s capital city is one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. If you feel like escaping from the hustle and bustle of the city for a few hours, a trip is Glenelg beach is a great way to while away a sunny afternoon. You can hop on a tram from any part of the city, and you’ll be lounging on this beach within a few minutes. It’s a scenic, peaceful coastal area, which is perfect for a bit of swimming and relaxing.

Adelaide Botanic Gardens is another lovely spot; the Mediterranean style climate of these gardens means that there are plenty of European plants and flowers here. Roses are particularly abundant; you’ll find them in almost every colour imaginable. You can stroll around the pathways, or stop off at a bench and enjoy a picnic lunch, surrounded by the fragrant, colourful flora.

Adelaide is a shopper’s paradise, with plenty of department stores, boutiques and gift shops to explore. Rundle Mall is a very popular spot; with fifteen arcades and six hundred shops, even the fussiest of shoppers will find something that they like. There are also a number of bars and outdoor cafes, where you can quench your thirst and rest your feet after a long day of retail therapy.
